More Money and Better Service Delivery: A Winning Combination for Achieving Drinking Water and Sanitation Targets

Based on a study by the World Bank’s Water and Sanitation Program (WSP), in partnership with the WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme for Water Supply and Sanitation, basic water and sanitation services can be provided for all by 2030 based on current investment levels. However, the SDG water and sanitation targets go beyond basic services and are estimated to cost $114 billion per year, three times the current investment levels.
