Symposium Presentation Guidelines

Time Allocation:

Please check with the chairs of your symposium for the time allotted to your presentation. The symposium chairs will be strictly enforcing the time of your presentation. To manage your time, please be cognizant of the length of your presentation. General guidelines recommend one PowerPoint slide per minute.

Presentation Format and File Size:

PowerPoint version 2007 or newer is supported. Please use 4:3 as the presentation format.  Do not use special fonts, which are not part of the standard PowerPoint package. If you use a Macintosh Computer, please note that Keynote (*.key) presentations are not accepted.

Submitting your presentation:

Final presentations should be submitted to Brian Shaw via email at brian.shaw@sabin.org or by flash drive at the Secretariat Office by 12:00pm one day prior to your scheduled presentation. When sending your presentation, please indicate in the email, the name and time of the session in which the presentation will be given.

Assistance:

A Conference Office is located in the Foyer Room at the conference center and will support all speakers, abstract presenters and moderators.  It is located next to Victoria Plenary Hall on the first floor of the conference center.

If you have any urgent questions, you may stop by the Office during the following hours:

  • Monday, April 3: 3 – 6:00pm
  • Tuesday, April 4: 7:30am – 5:30pm
  • Wednesday, April 5: 8:00am – 5:30pm
  • Thursday, April 6: 8:00am – 4:30pm

It is not possible to run PowerPoint presentations directly from a laptop in the session rooms. If you require special technology for your presentation please email cat@sabin.org as soon as you can and we will do our best to help you.

Session Recording:

Sessions presented at the conference will be recorded and selected sessions may be live-streamed for those unable to travel to Uganda to watch online. If you do not wish to have your presentation shared, please advise in writing in advance of the conference.

Presentations

PDF versions of approved presentations will be posted online and available for any interested people to view after the conclusion of the conference.  If you do not wish your presentation to be shared or would like to share a redacted version, please advise in writing no later than the final day of the conference.
